Happy Anniversary/Pregnancy Reveal Party

This past Saturday we had our five year anniversary/pregnancy reveal party. It was the night that we'd let extended family and a few close friends know that we were expecting! Everything went very well! Tommy and I had been working on the house for weeks just taking care of things we'd been wanting to accomplish. However, with the impending party it gave us a deadline and set a little fire under our butts (which was needed). I finally finished decorating our front porch which Tommy had stained some time ago. He also stained the walk-up, painted our window frames, finished the garden area with lots of new plants, dark mulch and shrubs. We bought, stained, polyurethaned and built our adirondack chairs (that saved us about $300 a chair and they look awesome). We hung outside lighting for ambiance, bought upper back deck furniture, and I bought lots of decor items for our backyard oasis. I purchased a runner for the farmhouse table outside, candles and lots of lanterns! The yard was looking really nice. Since the party was going to be a mix of outside and inside we really wanted to spiff the yard up. Everything was lovely.

About 50 family members made it including my grandparents (on my mom side). I decided to have a banner made to put in the front entry of the house. So when people would walk in they'd see the banner first then I'd pop out. I had on a tight maternity dress (my very first maternity purchase) so it was no denying my bump! Everyone was shocked and excited. It appeared to go very very well. It was a exciting night. Lots of food, drinks, music, family and friends. Just what I envisioned. So now the cat is pretty much out of the bag. Except we haven't announced it yet on facebook so we still have a lot of acquaintances that do not know. We may do that after our appointment on October 10th.

Here's our super-cute banner. I shot the picture upward over the archway to get the entire length. 23 more weeks to go!

Two good appointments today!

Well today was a good day! Besides the fact that I was up from 1-4am! Ugh this baby is literally trying to kill me!

I had my cardiologist appointment at 12:30 and the dr was SO nice! Everything checked out wonderfully! My blood pressure was good, my valves are good, the EKG went well. The dr said I had a slight heart murmur but that it was common with pregnant women and nothing to worry about. She said I did not need a follow-up visit and that everything was perfect. The dr gave me an A++ and a hug when I was leaving. Such a super sweet lady but I hope to never have to see her again! LOL I was scared as sh*t in there!

After I finished up there I went to my prenatal appointment. I lost 3lbs since last month according to my chart. I'm cool with that as long as the baby is doing awesome! Since this was a non-sono appointment it was pretty uneventful besides the joy of hearing the baby's heartbeat. Dr. Sohn put gel and this microphone thingee on the very bottom of my tummy and boom there was the heartbeat. It was so strong! We were so excited to hear that little heartbeat. Tommy and I were grinning from ear to ear. I also received a flu shot and information on cord blood banking.

Next month on the 12th I go to a perinatologist. Since I'm 35 and we conceived via IVF my OB prefers we go this route just to make sure everything is ok with the baby's heart, etc.
The appointment is a hour in a half and we get pictures and a disk. After that a appointment I have a regular prenatal appointment the next day with my OB. Actually I think we find out the sex of the baby next month which means we'll be having a gender-reveal party!!! So much going on at Casa de Hill! It's baby time! It gets more real by the minute!

I'm a LEMON!!!

Oh my where has the time gone! So I'm 14 weeks right now and I'm a LEMON!

Every Saturday I email my husband and my "wife" Jocelyn my weekly bump update and it's always start with what fruit or vegetable I am! It cracks my hubby up! ha ha
I'll be 15 weeks this Saturday which makes me a "NAVEL ORANGE". They totally kill me with these sizes of the baby each week being some kind of food.

I have my second prenatal appointment this Thursday at 3pm but that's after I go to see a cardiologist for the first time at noon. Being that heart issues run in my family my dr is making me get my ticker checked out which isn't a bad thing. My hubby is adamant about that appointment and will be there of course just all up in my business! lol

So far the second trimester is treating me well. I've been feeling pretty good! I'm still not getting a lot of sleep but that will be rectified once I stop working in the next couple of weeks. I had planned on working till right before Thanksgiving but my immune system is so low due to the lack of sleep. After speaking with my dr, my husband was like you're just going to have to stop working early b/c you're not getting enough sleep for you, let alone the baby. I mean it's not like I'm bummed about it, never really cared for this job anyway but I like extra money! ha ha

Now that I will have more free time I'm looking forward to starting back on my work-outs! The weather is nice so I'll be heading back to the lake for my morning "wogs" (walking/jogging). Now that I have Roman I can take him and he will just love it!

On another note:
Our master is coming together really really nice! My husband LOVESSSSSSSSS it!!!! So far I've purchased a rug, console for under the tv, two ottomans and two lamps. I have a chandelier on order which I'm hoping will arrive this week or early next week. The last thing I want to do is some light airy drapery and then the master will be complete!!! .....Well complete kind of! We are going to get a little remodeling done in the master b/c we have a side porch off of our room. We are claiming some of that space to enclose to increase the master. It will serve as a baby niche for a while and then evidentally a reading nook w/ a chaise and some shelving. We will probably get that tackled in a couple of months.

We only have 12 more days till our anniversary party/pregnancy reveal with my family and I'm so excited about that. Everything is coming together nicely!! Life is wonderful, we are truly blessed!
